Awareness Moves is a unique fusion of ancient Yogic spiritual practice with the proven regenerative and rehabilitative powers of Pilates, it combines the best of both eastern & western disciplines to merge into Yogalates.

This yoga style brings Bhakti, Hatha, Ashtanga and Vinyasa flow yoga together, interwoven with Pilates principles for core stability for safety and stability.

A neurologically based exercise system, it rejuvenates the central nervous system, encouraging the entire body to work in harmony and balance.

The benefits of Awareness Moves Yogalates go far beyond what either Yoga or Pilates provide individually.Combining anatomy and physiology, this exercise system has been devised to rejuvenate and restructure the body while centering the mind.

The Pilates aspect emphasises the importance of using the stabilizing muscles of the body, while in movement. This fine-tunes postural alignment, safely supporting those recuperating from injuries to build strength from a safe and stable base.

The Yoga component develops body mind awareness, increasing strength, endurance, flexibility and balance. It rejuvenates the body's systems and tones the internal organs.

Awareness Moves muscle toning workouts focus on building strength internally on a structural level, while stretching and strengthening all the major muscle groups.

Core stability exercise teaches you to activate the “three major girdles, increasing strength & stability of the muscles closest to the skeletal bones.

These girdles encompass the deep postural muscles of the spine and the pelvis, which all work in unison to enhance correct posture, supporting the nervous system running along our very core.

Pelvic floor exercise is an important part of fitness that is often neglected. We activate the pelvic floor muscles to assist the abdominals in creating stability through the lower torso, protecting the spinal column during movement.

The integration of breath with movement promotes deep relaxation, while enhancing mental clarity.

Therapeutic breathing helps to increase your lung capacity, activate abdominal and pelvic floor muscles, protect & strengthen the lower back, tone the belly & trim the waist

Yogalates is very unique in its respect of the personal needs of the individual & their body. It differs from other exercise systems as there is no impact or jarring of the body as in jogging, running or gym work.

Various props and modifications assist those with physical pain & limitations to safely participate in comfort.

Resistance bands allow you to work dynamically with safety, at your individual capacity. Based on physiotherapy exercise, they are excellent for maintaining bone density, also strengthening, lengthening & balancing the musculature of the body.
